MatrixDo Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 12, 2026 · Last updated: June 12, 2026

deepdream ("we," "us," or "our") develops and operates MatrixDo (the "App"). We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use the App, as well as the rights you have.

Core commitment: MatrixDo is built with a "local-first" design. Your task data is stored on your device and (when you are signed in to iCloud) in your own iCloud account. We do not operate servers that collect your task content, and we cannot read your task content. We do not perform ad tracking, do not build user profiles, and do not sell any of your information.

Please read and understand this policy carefully before using the App. By using the App, you agree to the information practices described in this policy.

1. How We Collect and Use Information

1.1 Content You Create (Task Data)

When you use the App, you create tasks and related information, including: task titles, estimated durations, due dates, assigned quadrants, completion status, archive records, and timestamps.

  • Storage location: This data is stored locally on your device via Apple's SwiftData framework and within an App Group container so it can be read by the home screen widgets.
  • Purpose: Used only to display, manage, and analyze your tasks within the App.
  • Our access: We cannot access this content. It is not uploaded to our servers.

1.2 iCloud Sync Data

If you are signed in to iCloud and have enabled sync, your task data is synced across your devices via Apple CloudKit (private database).

  • This data is stored in your own iCloud account, protected by Apple's privacy and security mechanisms;
  • Neither we nor any third party can read the content of your iCloud private database;
  • Whether iCloud is enabled is determined by your system settings; if you are not signed in to iCloud, data is stored only on your local device.

1.3 Subscription-Related Information

When you purchase a Pro subscription, payment is processed through the Apple App Store, and subscription status is managed and verified with the help of the third-party provider RevenueCat. This process may involve:

  • App Store transaction receipts / transaction identifiers;
  • An anonymous App User ID automatically assigned by RevenueCat;
  • Device-related identifiers (used to associate subscription status);
  • Subscription tier and expiration date (cached locally to determine membership benefits).

We do not send your task content to RevenueCat. We use the above information only to verify your subscription status, unlock the corresponding benefits, and restore purchases.

1.4 System Permission-Related Information

After you actively grant authorization, the App accesses the following system capabilities. The App will not access related data without your authorization:

  • Reminders (full access): Two-way sync of tasks with the system Reminders app. Requested only when you enable sync; reads/writes happen locally on your device / your iCloud.
  • Calendar (full access): Read calendar events to analyze time allocation (Pro). Read only for local computation of available time; not uploaded.
  • Speech recognition:Quickly create tasks by voice (Pro). Recognition is handled by Apple's speech framework.
  • Microphone: Capture audio input for voice creation. Used only during voice creation.
About speech recognition:Speech-to-text is handled by Apple's speech recognition service and may be completed on-device or via Apple's servers; such processing is subject to Apple's privacy policy. We do not store your recordings.

1.5 Anonymous Usage Statistics

To understand how features are actually used and to improve the product, the App uses TelemetryDeck (a privacy-focused analytics provider based in Germany) to collect anonymized usage statistics, such as: how frequently features are used (e.g., creating tasks, completing tasks, viewing the statistics page), impressions and purchase outcomes on the subscription page, and the results of system permission requests.

We place the following limits on this data collection:

  • It never includes your task content (titles, notes, and other user-generated content are never uploaded);
  • Values such as durations and counts are bucketed/obfuscated into ranges; exact values are not uploaded;
  • The data is anonymized and cannot be linked to your real identity; it contains no advertising tracking identifiers such as IDFA, and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking;
  • We do not build user profiles, and we do not sell or share this data with third parties for their independent purposes.

TelemetryDeck's privacy notice is available at: https://telemetrydeck.com/privacy

1.6 Information We Do Not Collect

For clarity, the App does not collect or request the following information:

  • Location information;
  • Address book / contacts;
  • Camera / photo library photos;
  • Device tracking identifiers for advertising (no IDFA tracking);
  • Any upload of task-related content (your tasks reside only locally and in your iCloud);
  • Any advertising SDKs.

2. How We Share Information

We do not sellyour personal information, nor do we share your information for third parties' independent marketing purposes. Information is processed only in the following necessary situations:

  1. Apple (iCloud / CloudKit / App Store / Speech Recognition): As the underlying platform and infrastructure provider, for sync, payment, and speech recognition. Subject to the Apple Privacy Policy.
  2. RevenueCat: As the subscription management provider, processing transaction and device identifiers needed for subscription verification. Subject to the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
  3. TelemetryDeck: As the anonymous analytics provider, receiving the anonymized usage statistics described in Section 1.5 above. Subject to the TelemetryDeck Privacy Policy.
  4. Legal requirements: Where required by laws and regulations, or by judicial or administrative authorities through lawful procedures, we may cooperate in providing relevant information as required by law.

Other than the above, we do not provide your information to any third party.

3. Storage and Security of Information

  1. Storage location: Your task data is primarily stored locally on your device and (when enabled) in your own iCloud account.
  2. Retention period: As long as you do not delete tasks or uninstall the app, data will remain on your device / iCloud.
  3. Security measures: We rely on the security mechanisms provided by the Apple platform (including device encryption, encrypted iCloud transmission and storage, sandbox isolation, etc.) to protect your data. The security of your device itself (lock-screen passcode, biometrics, etc.) is also an important part of protecting your data.
  4. Although we take reasonable measures, no method of storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security. Please understand and be aware of the associated risks.

4. Your Rights and Choices

Based on the "local-first" design, you have full control over your own data:

  1. Access and modify: You can view, edit, and archive your tasks within the app at any time.
  2. Delete data:You can delete tasks individually within the app; uninstalling the App deletes data stored locally on the device; to delete data in iCloud, manage or delete the App's related data under iOS "Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage."
  3. Withdraw authorization:You can disable access to Reminders, Calendar, Microphone, and Speech Recognition at any time under iOS "Settings → Privacy & Security," or turn off the corresponding features within the app.
  4. Manage subscriptions:You can view, change, or cancel subscriptions under iOS "Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions."
  5. Turn off sync:You can sign out of iCloud or disable the App's iCloud sync in system settings.

If you wish to exercise other rights regarding your personal information (such as inquiring whether we hold information related to you), you can contact us using the contact details at the end of this policy. Since we generally do not hold task content that can identify you, we may need you to provide necessary information to verify your identity.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not designed for children under the age of 13 (or the corresponding age specified in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the App without guardian consent, please contact us using the details at the end of this policy.

6. Cross-Border Data Transfers

The App is available to users worldwide. Because services such as Apple and RevenueCat are used, related subscription and sync data may be processed and stored on servers outside your country / region. We rely on the compliance safeguards provided by the above service providers for cross-border transfers. By using the App, you understand and agree to such necessary cross-border processing.

7. Third-Party Privacy Policies

For your convenience, the relevant third-party privacy policy links are as follows:

We recommend that you also read the above policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.

8. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be published within the App or through relevant channels, marked with the latest update date. For material changes, we will notify you in an appropriate manner. Your continued use of the App after the policy is updated is deemed acceptance of the updated policy. We recommend that you review this policy periodically.
